okay, so it has been awhile….I guess we’ve just been busy. Was thinking I wouldnt be writing much on this blog anymore being that I am now busy with a 6 mos old.
We took two trips in the past month with Anna. We went to St. Louis and Minnesota. Got the little lady baptised in STL in August. Was a great trip, her first airplane ride which went very well. She didnt cry once. I just kept feeding her anytime it seemed like she was going to start crying. The baptism also went well, we had all our family there and it was so much fun. Mostly it was nice to see Anna with her grandparents and aunts/uncles/cousin.
Minnesota was a nice trip as well. Went back for my friend Lisa’s wedding. Got to see friends and family and just relax. It is so nice having family to help out. That is something Ryan and I have really realized with these past 2 trips. We miss being near family and are seriously considering a move back to the Midwest. We absolutely LOVE PORTLAND. It is our favorite place and has brought us such happiness and good times these past 6.5 yrs. However, our lives our changing. We realize we want our kid(s) to grow up near their grandparents/family—To not just see them once maybe twice a year. Plus, with the cost of airline tickets I am not sure we would be able to afford to fly everyone home as much as we’d like. It is a really hard decision because Portland has so much to offer in terms if what we want and love about a city. It has great restaurants, great arts/theaters, close access to so many different types of recreations, etc.. the list goes on. But, the one thing it will never have is our family and that is really starting to hit home with us.
Little AP got her first illness while in MN–something I have been dreading since she was born. She got hand, foot and mouth disease–sounds awful but is just a virus that many kids get. She awoke with a 102.3 degree fever and was lethargic and crabby. ( not her usual VERY happy self). Needless to say she was very crabby while in MN. She is doing much better now.
Summer is now officially over, I cannot believe it. I do love the change of season, the cool crisp fall air and the changing colors of the leaves.
